The Innovation Driver for 2026+: Decoding Your Customers’ Emotions

I grew up in Düsseldorf and love the creative design and art scene there. Düsseldorf art professor Josef Beuys once said, “Every person is an artist,” and, inspired by his philosophy, I would like to adapt this quote as follows: “Every person is an innovator.”

An innovator is a person who develops and implements new ideas, often by integrating new technologies or processes to drive innovation and bring about change. An innovator thinks boldly and unconventionally, uses their talent, questions the status quo, and brings fresh concepts to an existing system—does this sound like you?

As innovators, it is our duty to keep our finger on the pulse and recognize the trends that will shape tomorrow’s market. In a world that is changing at breathtaking speed, it is crucial not only to react to trends, but to anticipate them and actively shape them.

This column highlights how emotions will fundamentally determine consumer behavior in the near future and provides you with guidance for product development.
