Hair care evolves from surface-level repair toward a new paradigm of hair longevity, where Hairspan defines the period in which hair maintains optimal functional performance, structural integrity, and sensory quality despite continuous exposure to daily stressors. 

The objective of this work was to develop and evaluate a bio-intelligent hair care ingredient capable of providing protection and performance benefits across all hair types. Combining insights from biomechanics and tribology, Covertrix was designed to address key consumer needs while enhancing sensorial performance. 

Covertrix acts as a bio-intelligent shield powered by Provital’s exclusive sustained-release system, the enhanced 3D Matrix Technology. It was developed by embedding Amaranthus caudatus seed extract, obtained through a two-step enzymatic hydrolysis process, into a 3D plant-based biopolymer matrix. 

Covertrix was supported by ex vivo research across multiple hair types (I, III, V, and VII), ensuring a truly multi-ethnic evaluation panel. Results demonstrated improvements in hair fiber strength, hydration, shine, softness, and quick-dry performance across all hair types. 

In conclusion, Covertrix serves as a multifunctional platform for next-level hair care, combining sustained bioactive delivery with proven efficacy to support the integrity, performance, and resilience of hair as a high-performance biomaterial while contributing to the extension of Hairspan.
