Clinical Trial Validates Oleosome-FGF-2 Improves Hair Density in 28 Days

Women experience hair thinning throughout their lifetime due to a variety of factors including hormonal changes, stress, weight loss, and medication. Approximately 50% of women experience hair thinning by the age of fifty [1]. 

Core Biogenesis developed a biotech scalp active featuring biomimetic growth factor FGF-2 delivered using plant-derived oleosomes to address the biological causes of hair thinning and scalp aging. FGF-2 is a signaling growth factor protein that has been studied for its role in tissue regeneration and hair follicle physiology, supporting the biological processes essential to hair growth [2].  

The company’s proprietary whole-plant biofactory technology produces growth factors fused to plant-seed oleosomes which enables 8-10X greater stability, deeper dermal delivery, and accelerated visible results.

The biotech scalp treatment, a formulation containing growth factor FGF-2 (hereafter referred to as Peaureva™ Scalp Serum), demonstrated significantly significant results in an 84-day randomized, blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial against hair and scalp parameters [3]. The Peaureva™ Scalp Serum increased hair density, increased the anagen/telogen ratio, and increased the hair shaft thickness.

The results support that biomimetic growth technologies represent a promising future to healthier and fuller hair, as biomimetic growth factors address multiple biological drivers of hair thinning by stimulating scalp health through topical treatment.
