Heroes of Modern Product Protection: 10. The Plant-Based Edition

In this series of publications, we review individual multifunctional ingredients to highlight their importance in modern product protection and to offer a glimpse into the benefits they can bring to formulators and consumers. We call them “heroes”, because multifunctionals play a critical role in ensuring shelf life and product safety for the benefits of consumers. This article discusses the recent innovation from Symrise, the Mindera® platform for leave-on applications, consisting of 100 % plant-based Maltol, Cinnamal, Hinokitiol and p-Anisic Acid. It explores the concept of a modular, platform-based strategy to product protection and multifunctionality.
