Originally cultivated as a utility crop for biomass production and soil improvement, Silphium perfoliatum has now been developed for the first time by Dohler GmbH as a sustainable raw material for the cosmetics industry. Its seeds provide squalene-rich oils and unsaturated fatty acids, while plant extracts contain antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and skin-brightening actives. Silphium ingredients therefore combine efficacy, ease of formulation, and ecological responsibility, opening up new perspectives for innovative, sustainable skin care products.
