A fast-acting, residue-free evaporating disinfectant and/or antiseptic
which is particularly effective against naked viruses such as poliovirus type 1, consists of 45 to 65% by weight of alcohol, 0.05 to 0.5% by weight of a phosphonate compound and an amphiphilic surfactant. The pH value of the disinfectant is adjusted between pH 4 and 9.
