- The biotechnology company will execute the investment between 2025 and 2026, reinforcing its industrial structure with a new plant of 1,600 m².
- The new facility will make it possible to respond to the growth in international demand for natural active ingredients for cosmetics.
Vytrus Biotech, a company specializing in active ingredients derived from plant biotechnology for the cosmetics industry, has approved a strategic investment plan for the creation of a new production plant in Terrassa (Barcelona).
This new milestone includes an investment of approximately 3.5 million euros, from November 2025 to the end of 2026, for the facilities and equipment of a new production plant that will represent a significant leap in the industrial structure of Vytrus Biotech.
The investment will be used for the production and logistics facilities of a new 1,600 m² industrial plant in Terrassa (Barcelona), which will represent a significant leap in the company's production structure. To this end, Vytrus has formalized a long-term lease of 15 years, guaranteeing the stability of this new site.
The headquarters, the R+D+i centre, the central offices and the rest of the corporate services will be maintained in the current facilities on Sant Gaietà street, also in Terrassa, located just ten minutes from the new plant. In this way, the company will have total facilities of about 3,000 m² of surface area.
Expansion and international projection
In this first phase of investment in the new plant, Vytrus estimates that it will be able to multiply its production capacity by three, which will allow it to meet the increase in global demand for its natural active ingredients. This reinforcement responds to the company's continued growth, but also to the need to be industrially prepared to work and meet the standards of large international customers, who demand high industrial capacity from their suppliers and flexibility in terms of production times and volumes.
This project is part of the Company's growth and consolidation strategy as an international benchmark in biotechnology applied to cosmetics, reinforcing its commitment to innovation, sustainability and the creation of value for shareholders, customers and collaborators. The company thus provides continuity and security to its expansion project foreseen in the 2024-2027 Strategic Plan, ensuring a stable and suitable location for the development of its industrial operations.
Balanced financial structure
The financing of this investment will be made around 50% with own resources and 50% with long-term bank financing, With this structure, Vytrus Biotech maintains a balanced and prudent financial profile, while ensuring the ability to execute an investment of strategic impact.
